Dear Parents,

Just a quick note to let you know that the children have settled well in Class 4 and are working hard. They have built some lovely statues and we are hoping to invite you in to see them in the near future. They looked at different statues for inspiration, such as The Angel of the North and the WEEE Man, and produced their own with the idea of carrying a message within their design.

The children have homework diaries, in place of reading records, and it would be appreciated if you could record in these when they have read at home. We check the diaries every Thursday. If you wish to make any comments in the diary, or ask a question, please feel free to do so.

PE is timetabled for a Friday afternoon. This lesson should be an outdoor PE lesson. However, because of the unpredictable weather, we may decide to deliver this lesson on a different day. We would be grateful, therefore, if you could ensure that PE kit is in school at all times.

The following is the homework timetable for Class 4:

Monday:                     Maths homework is due in.

                                    English homework is set.

Wednesday:              Spelling test

New spellings are given – to be tested the following week.

Friday:                        English homework is due in.

                                  Maths homework is set.

The set homework is usually consolidation of work in class and

should pose no problems to the children. If, however, your child struggles with the set tasks, please return the homework – with a note – and we will then go through it with them in school.

Many thanks,

Gail Selfe
